Who the Pet Protection Spell is for
For the animal you love: a small shield of care around your cat, dog, bird or horse, at home and when they are out of your sight. It is never a substitute for a vet.

How your ritual is made personal
This working is called The Sewn Triangle. Your pet's name is folded into a triangle around a pinch of salt and sewn into a scrap of blue cloth with seven stitches, their name spoken at each one, beside a sprig of rosemary and a white candle. The triangle is hung near where they sleep, always out of their reach; nothing is given to the animal to eat, wear or touch.
- Your pet's nameI write your pet's name on a small paper, along with your own name and the kind of animal they are. Your wish for them, as you phrased it, is read over the paper before anything else is done.
- Folded around saltA pinch of salt is laid on the paper and it is folded into a triangle around it. The folded triangle is an old Anatolian keepsake, and in villages a blue charm is still hung on a halter or a stable door.
- Blue cloth and rosemaryThe triangle is set on a scrap of blue cloth, the colour of the eye that watches, with a sprig of rosemary beside it. A white candle is lit and stays lit through the sewing.
- Seven stitchesI close the cloth around the triangle with seven stitches. At each one I say your pet's name once, so every stitch is made for that one animal.
- No knotAfter the seventh stitch the thread is not knotted. It is drawn back through the stitches and cut, so the triangle closes for good and is never opened again, which seals it.
- Where it hangsI hang the triangle at the spot set for your pet's sleeping place, as you described it to me, a shelf above a bed, a door handle or the outside of a cage, always higher than an animal could reach. Nothing is given to the animal to eat, wear or touch.
