This working is called The Forty Chickpeas. Forty dried chickpeas are counted into a small bowl over your name, each one a memory, an expectation or a 'what if'. At each sitting a white candle is lit, one chickpea is taken out and buried in the soil of a flower pot. When the fortieth is gone the bowl is washed and returned to the kitchen: an ordinary bowl again.

- Only your nameI write your name and date of birth on a paper and place it under a small bowl. Your ex's name is not written anywhere in this working. Nothing is done to them.
- Counting the fortyI count forty dried chickpeas into the bowl one by one. Each stands for something you told me you carry: a memory, an expectation, a what if. Your own words from the order decide what they are.
